The strategic guide of 9F, Marissa manages complex client projects and leads executive responsibilities. As a health scientist, she applies evidence-based solutions to the built environment, specializing in public health risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, worker safety, and climate change resilience.

Marissa co-developed the Health Co-Benefits of the Built Environment (CoBE) Tool at Harvard University, a tool used to quantify the health and climate impacts of building-related energy decisions. She served on the Secretariat for The Lancet COVID-19 Commission’s “Safe Work, Safe School, and Safe Travel” Task Force, and co-authored several reports on future pandemic resilience. In her previous role as a public health regulatory authority and worker safety specialist in Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), she gained expertise developing programs and overseeing compliance across multiple fields, including food safety and occupational safety.

Marissa received her Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Washington and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Washington State University.

Applying the fundamentals of environmental health into practice, Linnea oversees research, content development, and program management for 9F clients, with a specialized focus in legal projects, industry partners, and arts and entertainment programs. Her work is always grounded in scientific evidence as Linnea leads 9F on-site building reviews and develops key healthy building materials, from due diligence reporting to strategic guidelines. Linnea is most interested in how the built environment can play a role in reducing negative health effects and she has a deep understanding of air cleaning technologies, healthier materials strategies, and resiliency planning.

Linnea received her Master of Public Health in Environmental Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Bachelor of Arts in Biological Chemistry from Grinnell College. She is a Fitwel Ambassador and Certified Asthma Educator.

A systems thinker, Natalie crafts individualized project plans and leads strategic program implementation for 9F clients. Her technical acumen in health and safety and her ability to foster meaningful connections allow her to shape strategies and execute programs that improve the well-being of clients. From business development to program management and engagement, she connects scientific concepts with a diverse range of project stakeholders.

Natalie has professional experience in the public and private sector assessing regulatory compliance, conducting risk assessment, facilitating root cause analysis, and managing workplace safety programs.

She received her Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health and Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Arizona.

A healthy buildings practitioner, Maya leverages environmental health principles to support projects across the 9F Health Science Team. From research and project coordination to data analysis and developing reports and guidance for clients, Maya plays a crucial role in ensuring success and smooth operation for client programs.

Prior to joining 9F, Maya was a research coordinator for Harvard’s Healthy Buildings Program, where she supported the execution of the Global COGfx study and the launch of the Home/Work study. While a graduate student, she utilized data science to create a web tool to support environmental justice.

Maya received her Master of Public Health in Environmental Health from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and Bachelor of Science in Health: Science, Society, and Policy from Brandeis University.

Dr. Jones leverages her expertise in the built environment, statistical analysis, advanced modeling techniques, and environmental sampling to manage the Advanced Analytics Team. She oversees processing, analysis, visualization, and management of building-related data for 9F clients. An accomplished researcher, she is the author of several peer-reviewed publications investigating how building design and operations affect indoor environmental conditions and co-author of publications detailing Harvard’s Global COGfx Study, a one-year study Dr. Jones co-led on the influence of indoor environmental quality on human health, comfort, and performance. Prior to joining 9F, Dr. Jones was an environmental consultant and specialized in COVID-19 mitigation projects for schools and performance spaces.

Dr. Jones received her PhD in Population Health Sciences from Harvard University, Master of Science in Engineering from Princeton University, and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.

An environmental engineer with expertise in data analysis, Dr. Vilardi utilizes statistical analysis and data visualizations to evaluate building health. At 9F, Dr. Vilardi performs building- and portfolio-level analyses that determine the health benefits of building energy reduction measures and manages the implementation of 9F’s wildfire monitoring and alerting system based on indoor and outdoor air quality data. Before joining the Advanced Analytics Team at 9F, her previous work focused on water systems and water quality.

Dr. Vilardi received her PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Northeastern University and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. She is a 2019 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship recipient and has written peer-reviewed scientific papers for FEMS Microbiology Ecology and Environmental Science and Technology.

As a member of the Advanced Analytics Team at 9F, Morgan translates information into impact. She supports the development of novel analytical methodologies and visualizations, including 9F’s patent-pending H.E.A.A.L. indoor air quality data analysis system. Morgan also contributes to the deployment of H.E.A.A.L. across key clients’ portfolios that contain hundreds to tens of thousands of real-time IAQ sensors.

Prior to joining 9F, Morgan worked as an investigator of food-borne illness and monkeypox for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and supported the COVID-19 pandemic response at Columbia University.

Morgan received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Columbia University and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

A core member of the Occupational Health Team at 9F, Eli embodies the science of protecting the health and safety of people in the workplace. She oversees the development and execution of environmental sampling for 9F clients, including indoor environmental quality (IEQ) protocols and field sampling and analysis, primarily in the commercial office environment.

Eli received her Master of Public Health in Environmental Health and Industrial Hygiene from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Environmental Studies from St. Olaf College. She is a Certified Industrial Hygienist.

Dr. Cadet is a medical consultant for 9F. As an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Physician, she provides high-quality clinical care and promotes a healthy workforce through injury prevention and disability management. A former flight surgeon and medical director for the U.S. Air Force, she also served as Aviation Medical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Dr. Cadet received her Master of Public Health in Occupational Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, MD from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida.

An environmental health and industrial hygiene expert, Dr. McDevitt has expertise in the airborne transmission of respiratory viruses. He performs research on infectious disease transmission and intervention centers on developing novel methods for the assessment of microbial aerosols using molecular and microbiology techniques. Dr. McDevitt has worked in the U.S. Air Force and served on the faculty at Harvard. He is a diplomat for the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

Dr. McDevitt received his PhD in Environmental Health Sciences and Master of Health Science in Industrial Hygiene from Johns Hopkins University and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Adeptly managing two intersecting dimensions of 9 Foundations, Katie directs the day-to-day administration of 9F and shapes the strategic operations that propel the company forward. An expert at high-level needs and long-term planning, she oversees 9F’s finance and human resource development. She is the primary point of contact to the CEO, coordinating business priorities and time management. Her organizational prowess and acute attention to detail make her an integral member of the 9F team.

Katie has more than a decade of administrative experience, having successfully supported several executive and operational teams in various industries before joining 9F. She received her Master in Business Administration from Walden University and Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Siena College.

Sarah leads 9F’s external and internal communications. Taking a pragmatic approach to priorities large and small, she balances supporting 9F business development and client needs, including message dissemination and audience engagement. Her strategic expertise includes brand development, digital marketing, and user experience.

Prior to joining 9F, she successfully facilitated public health and internal communication innovation at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and later served as the producer of a boutique design firm, leading large-scale brand initiatives for academic institutions, research centers, and arts organizations.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy from Boston University.

Professor Juliette Kayyem is an international leader in crisis management and homeland security.  Professor Kayyem serves as the faculty chair of the Homeland Security and Security and Global Health Projects at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. An on-air CNN Senior National Security Analyst, Pulitzer Prize finalist, and contributing writer for The Atlantic and Boston’s local NPR station, GBH, Kayyem also consults for governors, mayors, public and private institutions on crisis management. She is a Senior Advisor to Teneo, the global consulting firm, and founded her own consulting firm to support the preparedness needs of companies, from Fortune 500 to startups.

Juliette is the author or editor of six books, including her most recent, The Devil Never Sleeps: Learning to Live in an Age of Disasters.

Carl Howell has over two decades of experience in the not-for-profit sector, dedicating his career to mitigating the impacts of poverty and the disparities across social determinants of health. He is the Chief Program Officer at Community Teamwork, Inc (CTI), one of the largest nonprofits in New England and one of only two organizations in the state of Massachusetts that is a Community Action Agency, a Regional Housing Agency, and a Community Development Corporation. Carl is recognized as a strategic leader and advocate for equitable, affordable, and healthy housing both regionally and nationally and has served in a board and advisor role on several housing and higher education organizations in New England.

A current advisor or board member for Common Ground Inc.; Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership, a first-time homeownership organization focused on first-generation and BIPOC households; Middlesex Community College’s Truth -Racial Healing and Transformation Center, a community college’s department to support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice efforts; Community Housing Inc., a 40B monitoring organization; DEI Consortium of Lowell, a grassroots advocacy entity; and he is a co-founder of the Housing Choice Coalition of Lowell, which advocates to change policies that enable discriminatory housing practices.

Maureen Ehrenberg is CEO of Blue Skrye, Innovation in the Built Environment. An internationally recognized expert on real estate business transformation, strategic redesign for the future of work, and facility management, Maureen serves as an advisor and board member to global organizations, investors, and real estate technology providers and has deep expertise in providing real estate advice and services to companies globally. Before founding Blue Skrye, Maureen was Global Head of Real Estate Operations and Strategic Services for WeWork. She has held global executive roles with JLL, CBRE, and Grubb & Ellis Company.

Maureen serves on the Americas Board of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Overseas Building Operations, Industry Advisory Group (IAG). She is a management trustee for the International Union of Operating Engineers, a trustee of Roosevelt University, and a member of the Real Estate Advisory Board for the New York State Teachers Retirement System (NYSTRS). She has also served on the Global Board of CoreNet Global, International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE). A frequent speaker, Maureen has been recognized as an industry thought leader with an Innovator of the Year Award from CoreNet Global, the Chair’s Citation Award from IFMA, The Julie Devine Digital Impact and Lifetime Achievement Awards for Vision in Technology from RealComm, and several awards and recognition for leadership and service in the real estate industry. Maureen attended The Business School at City, University of London, where she earned a BSc Joint Honours in Economics & Accounting.
